Analysts and journalists discussed the prospects and possibilities of Open data portal of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
July 4, Kyiv. A discussion on Open data portal of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took place in Kyiv. A workshop "Analize Rada, the code to the community" took place as well for promoting work with open parliamentary data. The event was organized by Civil network OPORA with support of UNDP office in Ukraine.
The project coordinator Nadiia Babynska presented the current version of the Open data Portal of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, told about plans to increase the list of groups of data sets, work to improve the operation of the portal, content data sets, and expressed the hope that these data will be used extensively for analysis parliament and creation new services.
Project Manager Vadym Hudyma led testing the key elements of the portal and participants explored portal, content data sets and more at the workshop .
During the discussion, participants proposed that the project should continue, because there is a need to expand the list of groups of data sets at least information agenda, information about the costs of MPs, amends the legislation and information on the work of the Committees of the VRU.

Open data portal Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine http://opendata.rada.gov.ua/ - is the website, which in structured form contains more than 400 sets of basic public data on parliamentary legislation, bills plenary session deputies of Ukraine, etc. Based on these data, you can create analytical products and web tools that provide information about the work of Parliament in the most accessible form. Development of the portal was made possible through collaboration of Civil network OPORA and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with the support of UNDP in Ukraine.
